MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD IN THE VILLAGE HALL ON WEDNESDAY 2nd DECEMBER 2009 PRIOR TO THE MEETING PARISHIONERS WERE INVITED TO RAISE MATTERS OF CONCERN WITH CLLRS: None present. POLICE REPORT PCSO Tracey Ren gave an update on the crime in the parish for the month and advised of the new policy of COP – Community Orientated Policing, which gives the police powers of discretion when dealing with minor incidents. NEIGHBOURHOOD WARDEN’S REPORT Warden Phil Drew reported he had dealt with one minor neighbour dispute in Darrel Gardens and would be taking action to deal with graffiti in the bus shelter in Bridge Road. Cllr Speed congratulated Warden Drew on the comprehensive monthly report he provides which is much appreciated. STROUD VALLEYS PROJECT Nadine Smykatz-Kloss gave a presentation to inform Council about ‘Frampton Aggregates & Biodiversity’. The aim was to reduce the impact of aggregate extraction around Frampton on Severn by restoring and creating traditional landscape features, biodiversity habitat and wildlife corridors lost over time to extraction. SVP hoped to work with this parish council on projects such as removal of metal footpath signs and replacing with oak posts. They will give regular updates to the Community Newsletter to advise of proposed projects. Whilst focused on the restoration of aggregate extraction sites, the targeted area extends from Longney to beyond Slimbridge and includes the Arlingham peninsula. As very substantial funds have been allocated to this work councillors need to consider possible projects which will benefit the community. The Clerk will have copies of the presentation slides available for Cllrs if requested. MINUTES OF THE MEETING
